DIScovery News — Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the DIScovery News app, published by Magical Media, LLC ("we").

What the app is

DIScovery News is an independent news aggregator for theme-park news. It gathers headlines, summaries, videos, and podcasts from outlets' own public feeds and links you to their sites and channels. DIScovery News is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with The Walt Disney Company or any of its subsidiaries. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Articles, videos, and podcasts belong to their publishers.

Your account

You can use the app without an account. If you create one (Apple, Google, or the anonymous device account), you're responsible for activity under it. You can delete it at any time in Settings → your account → Delete account; deletion is permanent, and wishes you bought are lost with the account.

DIScovery News+ (auto-renewing subscription)

• Price and term: shown on the purchase screen before you buy (e.g. $4.99/month, with a free trial where offered).
• Billing: charged to your Apple ID by Apple. The subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Managing/cancelling: iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: handled by Apple under their media-services terms.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase.
• Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — Apple keeps billing until you cancel it in your Apple ID settings.

Wish packs

Wish packs are one-time in-app purchases that add wishes (watched phrases) to the account you're signed in to. They're billed by Apple, apply only to that account, and can't be restored after the account is deleted or, for the anonymous device account, after you sign out. The shop only offers packs that fit under your account's limit.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app: no scraping our services, circumventing technical limits, interfering with other users, or using the app for unlawful ends.

Content

Third-party content reached through the app (publisher pages, videos, podcasts, social posts) is governed by its publishers' own terms. The app shows headlines, short summaries and links; stories open on the publisher's own page, and Reader view reformats that page on your device. Videos play in YouTube's embedded player under YouTube's Terms of Service. Briefings, "The story so far", trip briefs and Smart Alerts are generated by AI from linked reporting and can make mistakes; check the linked stories for anything important. Some placements are sponsored or affiliate links and are labeled as such; we may earn a commission on labeled affiliate links.

Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. News is time-sensitive and third-party; we don't guarantee accuracy, availability, or fitness for a purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and termination

We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be noted in the app or on this page. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
